Cloisonne

Cloisonne lapel pins are die struck from a copper bronze surface, then hand-filled with a glass-like mixture. The lapel pins are then fired in a kiln, then more color is added, and the pins are fired again. Next, the cloisonne lapel pins are hand polished and plated with either silver or gold.

Soft Enamel

Soft enamel pins are die struck from a solid piece of copper and electroplated with Silver, Gold or Bronze material to give a custom finish. Then the pins are hand-filled with enamels and kiln-baked to seal the colors. The pins are hand-polished.

Die Struck

A die is used to stamp an impression onto a copper or iron sheet. After being struck by the die, the impressions are cut out to form individual lapel pin faces. The die struck lapel pins are given a matte or textured finish. The raised areas are polished.

Silkscreen

This process of silk-screening a lapel pin allows art to be used without the fine gold or silver metal line around each color on the pin. This process is best with intricate designs that require precise, color-on-color detailing. A clear epoxy dome is optional and will help to protect the silk-screened areas.

Offset Printed

Offset Printed Pins are best when your design requires fine lines and details in a specific color range rather than in metal, or when your image is a painting or photograph. Each design is printed directly onto the pin. A clear protective epoxy coating is applied to the surface to protect the image.
